PUKIZO - delivering a spark of magic

under the label PUKIZO, that I started in 2009- I silk-screen my own illustrations by hand on apparel and papergoods.

My style emerges from the fascination with the „knowledge of the hidden“, the mystic world and symbolism of the tarot, the anatomy of magical objects and the connection to nature filtered through my own thoughts - every drawing tells it´s own story and reflects the artists inner world.

The designs are drawn with black ink on paper, most of them in fragments, in different moments like a puzzle, they are - later - playfully composed together until the image „feels right“.

The handdrawn illustrations are then silkscreened by hand with eco-friendly water based inks on fair trade organic cotton shirts and apparel items. This analogue process causes little differences in the prints and makes every print an unique one.

The illustrations are becoming their own living organisms after beeing printed on apparel. As wearable art, they get a face, they stay alive, see the world, the world sees them.

The drawings are high in contrast, striking, most of the time black and white and always a little gloomy.
